Peridot is a vibrant gemstone that is available in many shades of green. This stone was first discovered by humans 3500 years ago when it was mined for its value in trade. It eventually fell out of favor and was forgotten, only to reemerge around 1900.
Peridot is found in the Red Sea, Egypt, China, Brazil, and Arizona. It has even been discovered in meteorites. The largest cut peridot weighs 319 carats and was found on the island Zabargad.

Peridot is a beautiful olive green stone. It is much less expensive than Emeralds and Tourmaliine, making it a great gemstone for any occasion.
